__Join or lead the organiser team for [EAGxBerlin 2025](https://effektiveraltruismus.de/en/events)__

EAGxBerlin is going to take place from 3-5 October 2025. EA Germany is looking for people to join the event organiser team. We’ll first be hiring an event team lead and then three people to join as members. 

Time effort will be 5-15 hours per week in July and August, and then increase to full time in the final 2-4 weeks until the conference. EAGxBerlin is intended for both individuals new to the movement and those already professionally engaged with EA and will cover a diverse range of high-impact cause areas. We believe the conference will be of particular value to those currently exploring new ways they can have an impact, such as students, young professionals, people who are excited to start new impactful projects and mid-career professionals looking to shift into EA-aligned work. We also invite established organisations looking to share their work and grow their pool of potential collaborators or hires.

EA Global brings together a wide network of people who have made helping others a core part of their lives. Speakers and attendees share new thinking and research in the field of effective altruism and coordinate on global projects.

## Application details

Application deadline: 18th May 2025 (11:59pm BST). The general suggested donation is £400 GBP. We also suggest a range of alternative donation options. All applications for this event will receive a response by 21st May 2025 at the latest. Most applications receive a response within two weeks.

## Approximate schedule

The event will begin with an opening reception on Friday (but you can arrive at any time during the weekend). Saturday and Sunday will have full-day schedules with content finishing at around 6pm on Sunday evening.

The agenda includes:
- Talks and discussions on the latest ideas at the frontiers of the EA movement (past examples available [here](https://www.youtube.com/c/EffectiveAltruismVideos))
- Workshops to help improve your thinking and execution
- Meetups, networking, and social activities

## Our COVID policy

We are not currently imposing any COVID restrictions, though we recommend attendees to be up to date with WHO-approved vaccines.

## Travel expenses

We are prepared to reimburse travel expenses for some attendees. You may apply for travel support if the cost of attending is too high for your budget. ### Should you attend?

We prioritize attendees from Central and Eastern Europe to build the local community and connections across the region. However, we also welcome experienced EAs from around the world who can bring valuable perspectives and mentorship to the event.

While you might not yet have enough context to fully benefit from the conference, you can still apply and build that context on your own or by joining our [EA Introductory Program](https://www.efektivni-altruismus.cz/all-events/uvodni-seminar/) 🇨🇿.
- __You know the ropes but feel stuck__. You want to have more impact but are held back by uncertainty, lacking clarity, skills, connections, or motivation.
- __You are a seasoned EA__. You want to scale up your initiatives with the right people. You are keen to share your experience to empower others.

### Application process

We create maximum impact by thoughtfully selecting 350 attendees who can mutually support and inspire one another.

1. __Complete the application__ (5-60 minutes)
   We collect basic details about your interests and engagement with effective altruism. Keep it    brief if your online presence covers you well. Provide more detail if there’s a crucial          consideration we might overlook. Application deadline: __18 April 2025__

2. __We will review your application__
   Regardless of the outcome, we’ll get back to you within 5 business days.

3. __Register for the conference__ (5 minutes)
   If you’ve been accepted, you’ll receive an email with a link to register and confirm your        place at the conference. At this stage you’ll be asked to provide dietary requirements and        additional logistic details, and have the option of donating to offset event costs.

We’ve selected cause areas that will take center stage:

- __AI Safety and Governance:__ Delving into the technical and philosophical dimensions of AI safety and governance.
- __AI Autocracy:__ Investigating how AI impacts the balance between democratic ideals and authoritarian regimes.
- __Biosecurity:__ Fortifying global defenses against biological threats.
- __Animal Welfare:__ Tackling the immense suffering of trillions of animals in factory farms.

EAGxNordics 2025 will take place on __25-27 April 2025__ in Oslo, Norway at Rebel (Universitetsgata 2, 0164 Oslo).

EAGxNordics ‘25 is an [effective altruism (EA)](https://www.effectivealtruism.org/) conference organised especially for the Nordic and Baltic EA communities. Whether you’re just beginning your EA journey or if you’ve worked in one of the cause areas for years, this conference is an incredible opportunity to connect with people and organisations in the community, exchange ideas, and discover actionable ways to make an impact.



## Application process

Application deadline: 8 April, but we encourage you to apply as early as possible to secure better travel arrangements and help the conference organisers plan. In most cases, applicants can expect a response within two weeks.

EAGxNordics 2025

The EA Student Summit: London (EASSL), will take place on 5th April 2025 at the Leonardo Royal Hotel London Tower Bridge, 45 Prescot St, London E1 8GP.

EASSL is an [effective altruism (EA)](https://www.effectivealtruism.org/) conference designed to support students from the UK (and beyond) in pursuing high-impact careers/ projects. Whether you’re a serial EAG/x attendee or this is your first EA conference, the EA Student Summit is an incredible opportunity for you to connect with people and organisations in the community, exchange ideas, share opportunities, and clarify your next steps. 

### Application process

The application deadline is the 23rd March at midnight, but we encourage you to [apply](https://airtable.com/appAlj9BCNMCtUw8c/shreCGjKZfQ5CwHQt) as early as possible to secure better travel arrangements and to increase the chance that you get a mentor that’s better suited to your needs. In most cases, applicants can expect a response within two weeks of submitting their application.

__Complete a short application (~15 minutes):__ We’ll ask you about your current level of engagement with effective altruism, and collect information about your goals/ interests in order to assign you with a mentor.

### Who is this event for?

This event is open to all students and graduates, but we will be prioritising students from EA groups/ societies from UK based universities.

The summit is ideal for student group members and recent graduates who want to:

- Explore and evaluate different high-impact career pathways
- Hear about/ express interest in a variety of high-impact opportunities 
- Gain a better sense of their next steps
- Connect with likeminded peers/ mentors

This event is structured for those relatively new to EA, (for example, those who are doing/ have just completed an introductory fellowship), as the event won’t assume any knowledge and will include an introductory career planning workshop, along with a discussion with a more experienced mentor to consider next steps, which can be explored in the organisation fair.

Attendees that are more experienced (such as those that facilitate or help run a student group) will likely benefit from mentorship from more experienced EAs/ professionals, as well as the Organisation Fair that will help them put their mentor’s suggestions into action. We also encourage them to apply to be both a mentor and a mentee, so they can help very new attendees in their path to impact. 

__We also welcome experienced EAs__ from across the UK who can bring valuable perspectives and mentorship to the event. This event will be an opportunity for those professionally engaged in effective altruism and related cause-areas to network with other mentors, present their work, and meet potential recruits. ### How does mentorship work?

In the application form, both potential mentors and mentees will answer questions related to their interests and experiences so we can hand match each mentee to a mentor. Mentors and mentees will receive information about each other's backgrounds in advance, as well as information about the time and place that you are due to meet for a 30 minute 1-1 conversation.

We expect mentorship to be useful for sense checking mentees plans, helping them make progress on their uncertainties and sign-posting next steps within the Organisation Fair and beyond.

### ¿Quién debería asistir?

EAGxCDMX es tanto para personas que quieren aprender más sobre EA, como para quienes ya usan sus principios en su carrera profesional. 
Todos los asistentes deben haber consultado al menos 10 horas de contenido de EA, y el evento es ideal para:

- Estudiantes en México que quieran aprender más sobre EA y carreras profesionales relacionadas
- Residentes locales que buscan profundizar su interacción con esta comunidad

Este evento tiene como principal objetivo fortalecer la comunidad de EA de habla hispana, por lo que estamos planeando que entre el 50 y el 65% del contenido sea en español y el resto en inglés. Consideramos que asistirán muchas personas que solo hablan español, y algunas del resto del mundo que no hablan este idioma, y creemos que la conferencia ofrecerá valiosas conexiones y charlas para ambos grupos (y cualquier otro asistente).
