Will is an Associate Professor in Philosophy and Research Fellow at the Global Priorities Institute, Oxford and notable figure within the effective altruism movement. MacAskill is the co-founder and president of [80,000 Hours](https://80000hours.org), the co-founder of [The Centre for Effective Altruism](https://www.centreforeffectivealtruism.org/), the co-founder of [Giving What We Can](https://www.givingwhatwecan.org/), and the author of *[Doing Good Better](https://www.effectivealtruism.org/doing-good-better/)*.

Will's research focuses on two topics. First, on how one ought to make decisions under normative uncertainty: for instance, uncertainty about the relative value of current and future people. Second, effective altruism, the subject of his book *[Doing Good Better](https://www.effectivealtruism.org/doing-good-better/)*. Will has published in _Ethics_, _Mind_, and _The Journal of Philosophy_, as well as _The Guardian_, _Time_, and the _The New Yorker_. Hear more about his research in the following interview:
